Thapar Institute of Engineering & technology (TIET), a Deemed to be University, Patiala, is accepting applications for 2022 admissions in BE / BTech programs until 11 July 2022. TIET enjoys All India Rank 23 in the category “Engineering Colleges” as per 2021 Rankings by NIRF, GoI. 
Admission shall be granted first on the basis of 10+2 marks and thereafter (on vacant seats, if any) on the basis of JEE Mains 2022 rank (see admission criteria explained below).

Streams offered: Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering (Patiala Campus), Computer Science & Engineering (Derabassi Campus), Computer Science and Business systems, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Electronics (Instrumentation & Control) Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics

Eligibility: In order to avoid delay in admissions for the session 2022-23, TIET has revised its criteria of admissions to BE/BTech 1st year as below:
i. Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject*.
ii. Appeared in JEE (Main)-2022
iii. Passed 10+2 examination in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022.
iv. Possesses a good moral character.
v. Is a citizen of India.

Admission criteria

(A) Admission on the basis of 10+2 marks
The admission to all the seats of BE/BTech programmes shall be made on the basis of merit of aggregate of three subjects namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject*. In the event of a tie, the same will be broken as per the following criteria.

vii. Information storage and Retrieval
viii. Electronics

xii. Agriculture
xiii. Business Studies 

(B) Admission on the basis of JEE (Mains) 2022
As and when JEE Main - 2022 final result is declared, admissions for vacant seats (if any) in subsequent rounds of counselling will be done based on All India rank (AIR) of JEE Main – 2022 only. For admission on the basis of JEE Main – 2022, a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
i. Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject*.
ii. Appeared in JEE (Main)-2022
iii. Passed 10+2 examination in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022.
iv. Possesses a good moral character.
v. Is a citizen of India.

Application fee & dates
Application made by 11 July 2022: Application fee Rs.1,500/-
Application made after 11 July 2022: Application fee Rs.2,500/-
Application form will remain open after the last date (11 Jul 2022). To be eligible for a particular round of counselling, a candidate must have applied three days prior to that particular counselling round e.g. if a counselling round is to be held on July 28th, 2022, all the candidates who will be applying till July 25th, 2022 shall be considered.

Counseling Schedule : Counselling schedule for BE/BTech programme will be announced on the website as and when 10+2 PCM results are declared.
